How to receive photos from customers for printing
Short answer: let customers send from their own phone by scanning a QR code at your counter. The photos go straight to the shop computer in full resolution, without cables, Bluetooth, apps or WhatsApp.
The usual ways, and their problems
Cables rarely fit every phone, Bluetooth is slow and fiddly, email has size limits, and WhatsApp shrinks photos to about 1–2 megapixels. Each one also needs the customer’s phone at the counter, which holds up the queue.
The fast way: a QR code at the counter
Customer photo upload software such as SendToShop gives your shop a QR code. Customers scan it with the camera, pick photos in the browser and press Send. The originals transfer from the customer’s phone to your computer while they wait, or from home before they come in.
Large photos are fine: each file can be up to 50 MB by default, and sending pauses and carries on by itself if the signal drops.
When the shop has no signal
Pro’s Wi-Fi mode turns it into a Wi-Fi photo transfer for the shop: phones join your Wi-Fi and send straight to the PC over the local network, even with the internet down.
On the shop computer
Every order lands in a dated folder under its order number, such as 2026-10-03/A27_Oliver, with a quality badge on each photo. Point your print or lab software at the folder as a hot folder, or print straight from the Shop app.
