Give your PC a fixed IP address
Your router hands out addresses such as 192.168.1.24, and may give the PC a different one after a restart. The Wi-Fi QR code contains the address, so a new one breaks the printed QR. A reservation stops that.
About 5 minutes.
- 1
Find the PC’s address
The shop app shows it with the Wi-Fi QR code. Note the numbers before the colon, such as 192.168.1.24.
- 2
Open your router’s settings
Type the router’s address (often 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1, printed on the router) into a browser and sign in.
- 3
Add a reservation
Look for “DHCP reservation”, “Address reservation” or “Static lease”. Choose the shop PC from the list of devices and keep its current address.
- 4
If the address has already changed
The shop app tells you: “This PC’s address changed”. Reprint the standee from its banner, then add the reservation so it does not happen again.
